Buying Art Online
It must be hard to pay good money for a painting that you just saw the image of on your computer screen. You can't really see the texture, flow or even the fingermarks of the artist on a digital image so why would you want to part with your hard earned cash for something that you're not 100% sure what it would look like when it turns up? I agree, I recently had a feedback from one of the clients that she was pleasantly surprise to see the painting that turned up was more beautiful than what…

Good Artist vs Bad Artist
As the title reads, good artist vs bad artist, I wanted to find out how art dealers, critiques and the general public decides what is good art from bad ones and therefore who is good artist and bad artist.
If you ask me, as a painter the work I admire are mostly paintings I don't really know how to do myself, I wish I had created and feel envy over. When I feel envy over someone else's work I know I like the artist's work and admire their work - good artist. When I see a painting…

Creative Minds
I often wonder whether I am actually creative or I try to be for the sake of wanting to be creative. Why do I paint? Why do I write? Why do I design jewellery? What is my main drive to do all these things? Is it money? Is it praise? Is it because I have lots of time on my hand and I want to do something with my life? Well, it could be all of these things but the reason why I want to be creative is because of the way it makes me feel when I get praised or sell a piece. Unlike any…

Erotic Art and UK
Mmmmm...I was asked this question today and I'm not really sure what the answer is but does erotic art sells well in the UK? Who knows the answer to this? I would say British people may not appreciate this type of art or do they? I would think if it was done in a tasteful manner where it is not pornographic then it may appeal but where do you draw the line? I think my copy of Le Reve …

Selling Contemporary Abstract Art
This is my first blog so forgive me if I make mistakes ;o) I have been selling contemporary abstract paintings worldwide since 2003 and have been rather successful for someone who is not a professional artist. When I say I'm not professional artist what I mean is that I never studied art nor have I been painting all my life. I only started painting by accident and realised people like what I painted even offered me money for my work so I thought why not paint and…
