- Iqbal Krishna Gurtu completed his MA and two years of diploma in drawing and painting from Gwalior. He participated in Madhya Pradesh state exhibition, national exhibition and AIFACS in 1977, 1978 and 1979, respectively. He was awarded by the Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad in 1979.
His work is mainly ink on canvas in a daring, surrealistic style.
He has been working as a visual merchandiser since 1982 but has continued to pursue his passion for art by doing freelance paintings in New Delhi. He has carved a niche for himself with his extraordinary and unconventional ideas in the world of in-store marketing and display
