O esforço contemporâneo em captar os mínimos gestos das pessoas e torná-los reproduções parece sugerir a retomada do que dissera Walter Benjamin sobre a aura em torno da obra de arte.
Ocorre que o indivíduo em si não se considera uma obra em si, mas algo destinado a morrer. Diante disso, sua imagem e tudo o que ele puder reproduzir de si em vídeos, imagens, entre outros recursos, tendem a tornar-se sua arte em si mesma.
