Artistic-Profile
The job of an artist is to engage the viewer in obsessions and this series explores this ambition. “Katya and her Sisters” examines emotions using women’s faces as the medium. Do they attract you? Bother you? Worry, amuse or disturb you? Their faces and postures, colors and composition, are intended to stimulate and evoke emotions in you. The series was started July, 2010. There are currently 22 canvases, painted in oils, ranging in size from 16 X 20 inches to 24 X 30 inches.

Please enjoy my sisters, as we enjoy looking into your eyes.

Artist: Katya Kostow
Ms. Kostow began painting at about nine years old, and had her first exhibition at the age of sixteen. She paints and draws in oils, water color, pastel, ink and graphite. She paints primarily for the joy of it.
