- Since the early 1980s, my work has involved the creation of conceptually based sociopolitical paintings and drawings. In 1992 I began adding text by hand onto paintings. Hand written language has now become a very prominent feature in my work. In my work, I deconstruct the American dream, and religious belief that refers to a mental state in which faith is placed in a creed related to the supernatural, sacred, or divine that is brain washed into our society like fairy tales, nursery rhymes, and lullabies that are part of our childhood and adult culture.
