John McLaughlin's 9"x12" drawings/collages on paper involve both abstract and representational forms. His painting and drawing process is a delicate balance of skill and intuition. A self-taught artist, McLaughlin draws upon life experiences for his style and subject matter. From known natural objects to unknown forms and figures, he finds beauty in the mystery and undefined. McLaughlin works intuitively, without any pre-planned ideas or forms, allowing his subconscious to guide him through the work.
