- www.DestrySparks.com Destry Sparks is a contemporary mixed media painter and curator. Sparks attaches worn found objects to rough surfaces including burlap, window screens & wood pallets. This creates a particularly visceral surface atypical of the customary flat plane. His influences are diverse from modern masters Paul Klee, Joan Miro and Jean DuBuffet to leading contemporary painters Gregory Amenoff and Anselm Kiefer. African and Aboriginal craftsmen are also central to his practice. As a curator Sparks enjoys networking with other innovative artists to organize cohesive group shows to expose their work to new markets. Sparks is active on facebook, twitter, linked in & brooklyn art project. FACEBOOK is the best place to stay abreast of my solo and group projects.
