… the name standing for the Mosaic- & Glass-Art created by Carsten Linder, takes its origin from the word 'reflection' (latin: “reflexio”), and thus truly reflects in itself the main inspiration for his creations: Light!
Carsten’s passion for all things 'reflective' (i.e. relating to glass, crystal and polished metals) has expressed itself in various ways and means, during his career in Hotel Management and later on in Building Services.
After postgraduate studies in Interior Design and Built Environment Studies (MA), he decided to listen to the calling of his passion - and became a freelance Mosaic- and Glass-Artist.
In 2006 he undertook courses in ‘Modern Mosaic’ (with acclaimed British Mosaic-artists Jo Letchford and Martin Cheek), as well as in ‘Stained Glass’ and ‘Glass Fusion’ (with Richard Paxton of RainbowGlassStudios, London).
In 2007 Carsten became ‘Master in Mosaico’ at the world-famed mosaic college of Lucio Orsoni, famous artist and former manager of the celebrated Venetian Smalti factory Angelo Orsoni.
Next, Carsten furthered his skills and knowledge through intensive schooling in Roman, Byzantine and Modern Mosaic at the internationally recognized Studio Arte del Mosaico in Ravenna under the aegis of the eminent Italian mosaic specialist, Luciana Notturni.
Carsten’s works are expressing the reflections of emotions and experiences in our lives and worlds, and therefore can be categorized by two main subjects:
'Life's-Mosaics (Lebens-Mosaike)' and 'Soul-Mirrors (Seelen-Spiegel)'.
These emotionally powerful images allow the viewer to be engulfed by the beauty and spirituality of our lives and souls; ...so as glancing into a magical mirror full of colours in which a new dimension opens up before our very eyes to reflect on us...
