The work of my grandfather Pan Pfeiffer with his mix of German emotional expressionism and French philosophical impressionism are today, guiding influences in my own work.
While my formal training in oils was rather conservative, my own creative curiosity led me towards acrylics, gels and other mediums including plaster. Today I often use photo transfers that I paint on, scratch off and otherwise modify; merging modern medias with old world tools.
The tools I use on each piece vary, but my emphasis remains color and expression – to give the viewer a glimpse of a moment, a feeling and a depth that they eye registers as a complete image – yet one filled with longing, desire or peace that capture the human experience.

PS: the photo isn't me. My grandfathers parents owned a little photostore in germany pre-WWII, and this cover has the name and location printed on it. My grandfather became a painter and my uncle a photographer. This is my way to remember them.
