- My current work, digital hypertopia, bridges photography and painting. Photographs are ‘found’ paintings anyway. I still adhere to photographic ‘laws’ - the unity of the picture plane (I can’t bring myself to commit a collage) and I am very particular about the corners. As a photographer I am a closet classicist.
Abstract expressionism and the romantic sublime collide/collude with classic formal composition on a lateral thinking [mouse-driven] journey. I travel through this ‘found’ micro-terrain of Hypertopia, a flaneuse amongst impossible architectures ... Form and colour create the conditions in which this dream can persist.
