An artist and painter, born near Tangier in the north of Morocco. Started artistic career at the end of the 60s and have been making my living from art since.
I have travelled extensively, my journey to Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Holland and France nouriched my inspiration. Moreover, my 10 years living in England honed my techniques.
I have explored figurative painting, impressionism, surrealism, abstract and modern art.
During my time spent in England, I opened an art studio and exhibited in the UK, North Africa and Saudi Arabia.
After moving back to Morocco, I gained wide spread recognition through out my native country.
My prolific output includes frescoes and sculptures. I have also worked on numerous public and private commissions, across the country.
Highlights of my career:
* 1994 - I worked in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) where I painted a monumental fresco in a private palace.
*1994 - I built the astonishing " Sculpture wall " 114 metres long, and 4 metres high at the entrance of the city of Agadir, it took me three months to finish.
*1997 - I sculpted for the city of Taroudant ( a miniature Kasbah 6 by 4)
*1998, for the second memory of the death of princess Diana, I exhibited a series of painting on her life.
*1999 - I was the first artist that portrayed The King Mohammed VI current King of Morocco.
*The events of September 11, 2001, Inspired me to produce huge work entitled " Black Peace".
I was often inspired by important current events and these have always been driving force behind my creation, I had exhibited on themes such as the palestenians conflict and the second golf war.
The Dome in my painting:
It is around this period that the dome became a symbol of my work. A universal form, the dome is commoc to many cultures. The dome or marabout in Frensh has always been a symbole of spirituality and is present in many of my paintings, signifying peace and resolution of the world's conflicts and prevention of the destruction of all that is beautiful on our earth.
My work can be found in private collections throughout the world.
