Artist: S.C.Mahesha Kumara
Title: Global warming
Medium: Oil on canvas
Year: 1998
Size: 48'x37' inches
Description: This painting depicts how global warming could influence the humanity and world environment. The 'tree' depicts lack of oxygen in form and without any breath affecting the nose and lungs. The 'branches' are like the complete enivornment spoiled which is similar to a nervous tension and stress affecting the brain of a human being. The 'sunset' shows the forehead contrast to blood pressure affecting a man. The 'clouds' convey poisonous gases filled with smoke, which blinds the eyes. The fresh 'leaves' are falling from the trees and crying for help eventually getting dried up. The 'grounds' have lost all water hit with famine and mouth has lost its thrist depicting a decline in mankind and a crumbling enivornment. This paintings depicts that nature and human both are crying. The small grin in the lips which shows the slightest survival of hope, which lies in hands of mankind for recovery.
