Essentially, my art is centred around the mythology of Keltic Britons, just as the Masters were wont to paint ancient Greek and Roman mythological scenes, or painted Christian pot-boilers for wealthy patrons.

 

Of course, the Masters' patrons wanted many things - obviously, the Church wanted to make visual the stories in the Bible, as a point of focus for worshippers.  Then many, like the Medici family, were fascinated to the point of obsession with Classical architecture and the attendant heritage.

 

For myself, having missed out on a classical education during my school years (although keen to catch up since), I am not inclined towards ancient Greek, Roman or indeed Egyptian, or any other kind of heritage but that which has been sorely neglected for over two millennia - that of my people, the Brythonic Kelts.  Maybe my efforts will spark renewed interest in the subject from an artistic perspective, or maybe I will fail in my attempt.  Either way, I do not expect to attract commissions from the Christian church, as they have historically been implacably opposed to my religious standpoint, and I doubt that any amount of interfaith dialogue will tempt them towards the truth of my position.

 

I daresay, though, that those who like my artistic style will commission me to paint - or indeed sculpt - something unique.  I also compose and write, but that's for elsewhere...
